Aging types

Aging is not one-size-fits-all. While we often think of it as a universal, linear process, skin actually ages in different patterns depending on genetic factors, lifestyle, and the body’s internal mechanisms. Recognizing which type of aging predominates in your skin can help you choose the most effective care strategy.

Let’s look at the four key types: deformative, muscular, tired, and dry aging.

It is important to note that for most people, aging doesn’t fall neatly into a single category. Signs of muscular, deformative, tired, and dry aging often overlap, creating an individual pattern that can shift over time. That’s why it’s important to pay attention not only to one dominant factor, but to the overall condition of your skin, so you can choose a care strategy that supports it through every stage of the aging process.

When Gravity Takes Over

Deformative Aging

This type is often linked to the loss of firmness and structural support. As collagen, elastin, and subcutaneous fat decrease, facial contours lose definition and skin begins to sag.

SIGNS:

  • Sagging of the lower face, jowls;
  • Prominent tear troughs, appearance of a double chin;
  • Oily skin with good amount of subcutaneous fat;
  • Tendency for skin redness;
  • Mostly women who are prone to fullness.

YOU WANT TO LIFT

GOAL: Autophagy, Increase lymphatic drainage, Collagen booster.

PROCEDURES (initial 2 months): Vacuum free HydroOxigenation (Hydrofacial); RF or microcurrent; LED; Fascial stretching massage; Lymphatic massage; Buccal massage; CRYO.

BE AWARE OF: Acrylates, PEG, PVP/VA (Vinyl derivatives), Dimethicone, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, fragrance, synthetic or weak SPF.

CARE FOCUS:

lifting and remodeling — firming peptides, hyaluronic acid, and lipid-repair complexes help re-densify the skin matrix and support the natural scaffolding.

AM routine

  1. Rosa Cease Serum
  2. ABC De Intense Cream and/or Renovation Sculptor Cream (can be used alternately or sequentially)

PM routine

  1. Renovation Sculptor Serum
  2. B0-Tox Cream and/or Night Restoration Architect Cream (can be used alternately or sequentially)

When Expressions Leave Their Mark

Muscular Aging

Muscular aging is driven by repeated facial movements — frowning, smiling, squinting — that gradually leave visible lines and folds. Over time, these micro-contractions reshape the skin’s surface, especially around the eyes, forehead, and mouth.

SIGNS:

  • The appearance of folds and deep wrinkles, strong features;
  • Loss of volume in the mid face;
  • Sagging of the upper eyelids;
  • Drooping of the corners of the mouth;
  • Thick, elastic skin.

YOU WANT TO RELAX

GOAL: Mitochondrial & metabolic balance; Autophagy; Collagen booster.

PROCEDURES (initial 2 months): Myofunctional massage; Microneedling – 1 per 6-8 weeks; Cryo sauna; Microcurrant (250-400 mA); Hydrofacial – 1 per 6-8 weeks; Aroma therapy to relax; LED.

BE AWARE OF: Alcohol (especially combined with glycols), Acrylates, Clays, Essential oils - Menthol/Camphor, lack of emollients which supports lamellar phase & neuroseuticals (peptides etc).

CARE FOCUS:

muscle relaxation and collagen stimulation — look for peptides, neuro-calming actives, and hydrating antioxidants that restore elasticity without “freezing” natural expressions.

AM routine

  1. Rosa Cease Serum and/or Pore Perfect Serum (can be used alternately or sequentially)
  2. ABC De Intense Cream and/or Renovation Sculptor Cream (can be used alternately or sequentially)

PM routine

B0-Tox Cream

When the Skin Loses Energy

Tired Aging

This form of aging reflects fatigue and sluggish cellular activity. The skin appears dull, less radiant, and slower to regenerate — a common result of stress, pollution, or lack of rest.

SIGNS:

  • Dull skin tone, fatigue appearance;
  • Drooping corners of the lips and eyes;
  • Swelling in the area under eyes;
  • Fine lines around mouth and eyes with oval shape of face;
  • Often seen in slender women;
  • Normal-dry skin with moderate
    subcutaneous fat.

YOU WANT TO CALM

GOAL: Reduce toxins; Nutrient, mitochondrial, microbiome and stress balance.

PROCEDURES (initial 2 months): Manual lymph diffusion, Oxygen infusion, Cryo (28-30 C), LED, Fascial stretching massage.
Be cautious with Micro needling, Hydrofacial, Microcurrent.

BE AWARE OF: Natural allergens (Benzyl alcohol, Benzoates, Limonene, Linalool, Euganiol, Geraniol, Menthol etc), SLS, Sulfates, Glycols, preservatives  -phenoxyethanol, formaldehyde releasers (Imidazolidinyl Urea), retinoids

CARE FOCUS:

energy renewal and detox — antioxidants, niacinamide, and ingredients that support cellular metabolism can restore vitality and glow.

AM routine

  1. Pore Perfect Serum
  2. Rosa Cease & Strike Back Cream and/or ABC De Intense Cream (can be used alternately or sequentially)

PM routine

  1. Rosa Cease Serum
  2. B0-Tox Cream and/or PrOasis Intense Cream (can be used alternately or sequentially)

When the Barrier Weakens

Dry Aging

As the skin’s lipid balance and moisture retention decline, it becomes thinner, rougher, and more prone to fine lines. This type of aging is more commonly observed in skin that is dry or sensitive.

SIGNS:

  • Decreased skin elasticity;
  • A large number of fine lines, early
    expression lines (crow's feet, forehead, smile lines);
  • Tendency to dry and dehydrated skin;
  • Signs of sun damage;
  • Skin thin, little subcutaneous fat.

YOU WANT TO NOURISH

GOAL: Decrease TEWL by Lipid restore, Strengthen barrier Mitochondrial and Nutritient balance.

PROCEDURES (initial 2 months): LED, Oxygen infusion, Low-frequency microcurrent <350mA, 0,5-2 Hz, Biolifting massage, Nourishing masks, HA with Ceramides.
DON’T: Microneedling, CRYO.

BE AWARE OF: SLS/SLES, Sulfates, Alcohol, Mineral oil, Petrolatum, Dimethicone, non proper ratio of ceramides/cholestorol/FFA.

CARE FOCUS:

barrier repair and hydration — replenish with ceramides, omega-rich oils, and humectants that lock in moisture and strengthen the skin’s protective layer.

AM routine

  1. Pore Perfect Serum
  2. ABC Deep Nourishing Cream and/or Renovation Sculptor Cream (can be used alternately or sequentially)

Each type of aging tells a different biological story — muscular, deformative, tired, or dry — but they often overlap. Effective skincare doesn’t just mask signs of time; it addresses why they appear. By understanding your skin’s unique aging pattern, you can choose formulas that work in harmony with its natural processes, helping maintain a resilient, balanced, and luminous complexion at every age.
